Are there any famous Ukrainians in US?

Greetings to all Ukrainians on this glorious Day of Independence! Fresh out of former Soviet Union, Ukraine is one of the youngest democracies in the world (20 years). Nice to know, but are there any famous Ukrainians in the US? Here is a in-no-way all-inclusive list:

Klitschko Brothers:

Klitschko brothers hold all of the World Heavyweight Boxing Titles collectively. Vladimir’s belts: WBA, WBO, IBO and IBF;  Vitali holds WBC championship.

Mila Kunis:

Actress who was made famous by “That 70’s show” and recent movies “Black Swan” and “Friends with Benefits” (Photo: Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake in “Friends with Benefits”)

Igor Olshansky:

football player for Dallas Cowboys of NFL. Position: defensive end. Olshansky signed a four-year contract with the Dallas Cowboys on March 6, 2009. The deal was worth $18 million.

Leonard Nemoy:

mostly known by his “Star Trek” name, Spock. Both of his parents immigrated from Ukraine.

Stephen J. “Steve” Ditko:

Comic book artist most known for being a co-creator (with Stan Lee) of Marvel comic book heroes Spiderman and Doctor Strange.

Erika Eleniak

playboy playmate and actress know for her role in  Baywatch as Shauni McClain.

Vera Farmiga:

Born to the family of Ukrainian imigrants. Actress known by movies: “Running Scared”, “Boy in Sriped Pyjamas”, “The Departed”. Her most recent movie was a Sci-Fi-Thechno-Thriller “Source Code”.

Anthony Fedorov:

singer who was the fourth place finalist on the fourth season of the American Idol.

Eugene Hütz:

Musician, main vocalist of the successful gypsy punk band  Gogol Bordello. Also acted with Elijah Wood in the movie “Everything is illuminated”.


Oksana Baiul:

Professional figure skater. She is the 1994 Olympic Champion in Ladies’ Singles and 1993 World Champion. Now figure skating coach in US.

Vasyl Virastyuk:Winner of 2004 competition “The Strongest Man in the World”.
Milla Jovovich:

Actress known by movies “Fifth Element” and “Resident Evil”. She was born in Ukraine.

Yulia Tymoshenko:

Two-term Prime Minister of Ukraine.

Even though she doesn’t reside in US ex-PM Tymoshenko belongs in this list as the sexiest prime minister ever.

Olga Kurylenko:

Actress. Love interest and a sidekick of James Bond in the movie “Quantum of Solace”.
